'The Simpsons' Renewed for Seasons 31 and 32 by Fox

"Don't have a cow, man.'

The Simpsons will live to see another day. Despite earlier reports that Fox may finally end the pioneering animated sitcom due to budget cuts, the network announced Wednesday it would renew the saga of Springfield's most beloved dysfunctional family for another two seasons.

The Simpsons remains the longest-running primetime scripted show in TV history. Gunsmoke previously held the record, until the Fox series took over the crown with Season 29.

"We've got some eeeeeexcellllent news... #TheSimpsons has been renewed for Seasons 31 and 32!," posted the show's official Twitter account.

The news quickly spread throughout social media, prompting Entertainment Tonight to share some Bart-inspired congratulations on Twitter, "Don't have a cow, man – there's plenty more of #TheSimpsons headed your way!"

Fan Michael Marcelin @mikethewriter1 gushed on Twitter, "I do believe #TheSimpsons will outlive us all … #twomoreseasons!"

Tweeted LittleGameBoy5: "There is no stopping #thesimpsons getting to Season 32 in 2012!"

When Season 32 wraps, the sitcom will tally a whopping 713 episodes. According to CNN, a marathon viewing session of all 32 seasons, with each episode clocking in at 22 minutes, would take more than ten days to coplete.

Since its 1990 debut, the show has racked up 33 Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, a 2016 People's Choice Award and even a 2016 Environmental Media Award. In 1996, it became the first animated series to win a Peabody Award. The show was also nominated for an Academy Award for the 2012 theatrical short, "The Longest Daycare."

Fox has yet to announce a premiere date for Season 31. New episodes of the ongoing Season 30 currently air Sundays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
