When Is 'The Sinner' Season 4 On Netflix?
The Sinner Season 4 is well underway on USA Network, but fans are desperate to know when it will land on Netflix.
As is the case with every season, the fourth installment examines a brand new case, shrouded in mystery.
Despite retiring at the end of Season 3, Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) is drawn into the disappearance of Percy Muldoon (Alice Kremelberg).
Here's everything you need to know about The Sinner Season 4—including its Netflix release date, plot and cast.
When Is The Sinner Season 4 On Netflix?
The good news is, The Sinner Season 4 will be coming to Netflix. The bad news is, fans will have to wait a little while longer before they can stream the new episodes on the platform.
Season 4 is expected to follow the release pattern of the previous three seasons, which dropped on Netflix outside of the U.S. around five months after the season premiere on the USA Network.
This means Netflix users in Europe and the U.K. who are fans of The Sinner will be waiting until at least 2022 for the new series to drop on the streaming platform.
For fans of the show based in the U.S., there is usually a year's wait for the show to arrive on Netflix.
For example, Season 3 began airing on February 6, 2020 on the USA Network and arrived on Netflix on February 6, 2021. Seasons 1 and 2 of The Sinner followed the same pattern.
Therefore, it is likely that Season 4 will be available to stream around October 2022.
To watch The Sinner when it arrives, you can subscribe to Netflix from $8.99 (£7.99) now. The first three seasons are available to stream and download now.
Alternatively, if you are based in the U.S., The Sinner Season 4 will continue to air every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network and USA Network.com.
Episodes are also available to stream via FuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, or DIRECTV STREAM.
What is The Sinner Season 4 About?
The Sinner is a gripping anthology series starring Bill Pullman and is executively produced by Jessica Biel, who also played Cora Tannetti in Season 1.
Due to the show's anthology nature, each season has followed Detective Harry Ambrose as he investigations a different crime, trying to track down who did it and why.
As mentioned above, Season 1 saw Ambrose investigate the past of Cora Tanetti, after she inexplicably stabbed a man to death by a lake. Then, in Season 2, Ambrose looked into the inner workings and crimes of a local cult, after a young boy was seemingly kidnapped. In the third installment, Ambrose investigated a tragic car crash in Upstate New York.
The fourth outing sees Ambrose investigate the mysterious disappearance (and potential death) of Percy Muldoon.
At the same time, Ambrose is dealing with his guilt over shooting dead Jamie Burns (Matt Bomer) in Season 3, motivating him to stop at nothing to get justice for Percy and her family.
Showrunner Derek Simonds told Newsweek that Season 4 of The Sinner will focus heavily on Ambrose and his guilt.
He shared: "The whole intention was to follow Ambrose more closely, even more than seasons past so that he's even more in the center of our storytelling. I was really interested in exploring the theme of guilt this season and the guilt that Ambrose feels not only for Jamie Burns, and the death that he's responsible for in season three, but the sort of life lifelong accrual of things that we've learned about him over the course of the show.
"I wanted to see Ambrose confront the load of that guilt head-on, and see how it drives him forward in this case and see him, hopefully if he makes it to the end, actually have come to some sort of peace with it all, and what that would look like for his character."
