Sit-Down Safari

FUJITSU INTERACTIVE'S CD-ROM Virtual Safari ($29.95; 888-992-5433) is virtual in more ways than one: the object of the game is to hunt animals with a camera, not a gun. You start off at Three Trees Lodge where the wizened, Yoda-like Colonel prepares young whipper-snappers like you to become ace photojournalists. Once you've gathered all the objects, jump into the Land Rove and drive off to explore the Acacia, Savannah, River and Waterhole environments. Virtual Safari is no mere point-and-shoot game; it's also a reference tool with information on each animal's appearance, behavior and feeding habits. The superlative 3-D design comes to life in simulations that allow you to ride the back of a fly or a fish. Tallyho!
