Bitmoji Not Showing Up in Snapchat, Not Working

Bitmoji offers Snapchat users a way to use their avatars as an extension of themselves in the app. Not only can users have their Bitmoji represent them as a contact, but they can add their Bitmoji in sticker form to their Snap photos, videos and chats. The Bitmoji stickers can even appear 3-D in the photos and videos that users post.

So when users found that their Bitmoji stickers were missing from the Snapchat app on Thursday, they weren't happy.

Snapchat introduced 3-D Bitmoji animations last year. Anyone who has a Bitmoji can link it with Snapchat, and anyone who doesn't have one can easily make one to add to the app. The program allows users to make a small animated version of themselves with the options to personalize hair, height, body, eye color, clothes and more on the avatar.

Any user who has a Bitmoji linked to Snapchat can simply open the camera and tap the screen to open lenses where they can swipe until they find the Bitmoji, according to Snapchat.

Some users were able to see their Bitmoji when they used the lens Thursday but not when they tried to use it in chat or if they tried to use the stickers function in the app. When a user asked Snapchat's support Twitter account for help, the account responded and asked the user to send the account a direct message with the Snapchat username so it could look into it.

It wasn't clear what was causing the issue solely with Bitmoji on Thursday or when it might be resolved.

Snapchat did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment on the issue with Bitmojis in the app.
