Snapchat Not Working: Users Report Black Screen in App, Camera Not Working

Some Snapchat users were having issues with the app on Wednesday.

Users were tweeting about the problems in the app and sharing that when they tried to take a photo in the app they would just end up with a plain black screen instead of the image they captured.

Users were unsure whether the issue was with their device or with the app but Snapchat was confirming to users on Twitter that the issue had to do with the app. The Snapchat Support Twitter account was responding to some users who were asking about the problems. The support account said that Snapchat was aware of the issues and looking into it.

One user tweeted that they could send videos without the screen turning dark but they were unable to take photos.

Snapchat was recommending that users look for an update to the app that would help solve the problem.

Snapchat did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
