Over 2,600 Indiana Residents Without Power After Third Outage in Three Days

More than 2,600 residents are experiencing power outages in South Bend, Indiana, on Thursday, according to Indiana Michigan Power (I&M).

As of 9 a.m. EST Thursday, there are at least 2,657 power outages in South Bend, according to the I&M Power outage map. Tracy Warner, a spokesman for I&M told the South Bend Tribune on Tuesday that the power outage started around 2:45 a.m.

Warner told the publication there is a problem with an underground cable that comes from a substation.

Residents who are still affected by the power outage include those in downtown South Bend, according to the I&M Power outage map. Areas that were affected by the power outages include Leeper Park, Portage Avenue to California Avenue, Eddy Street Commons and Twyckenham Drive, which is south of Angela Boulevard to Sunnymeade Avenue, ABC57 reported.

There was another power outage in Mishawaka, Indiana, caused by a fallen tree on Tuesday, and a second power outage in Downtown South Bend on Monday caused by a fire, according to ABC57.
