How to Watch the 'South Park: Post COVID' Special

South Park is one of the most iconic adult animated series of all time, and two new films are set to add to the franchise's impressive roster.

The first special, titled "South Park: Post COVID," will be released on Thursday, November 25, aka Thanksgiving, on Paramount+ and a second will come out in December. There will be 14 films in total.

Here is everything you need to know about the first South Park special.

What Is 'South Park: Post COVID' About?

"South Park: Post COVID," as one might expect, is set in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic and it will see Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman return for another adventure in South Park, Colorado, that will no doubt be hilarious.

Show co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the two forthcoming movies, with Parker emphasizing the first is focused on how everyone wants to go "back to normal."

He said: "It's the boys dealing with a post-COVID world. They're just trying to get back to normal. So, it is like our show. We're just trying to get back to normal."

Where Can You Watch 'South Park: Post COVID'?

"South Park: Post COVID" will be released exclusively on Paramount+, and the special marks the animation's debut on the streaming platform.

The special is part of South Park co-creators' $900 million deal with ViacomCBS, which they signed in August, and it is separate from the show's forthcoming seasons on Comedy Central.

Similarly to Paramount+'s other shows, the special will be available on the streaming platform from midnight PST on Thursday, November 25.

The South Park special will then be followed up by a second film. The details of the film are yet to be revealed but it has been announced that it will be released in December.

Will There Be More Seasons of 'South Park' After the Two Specials?

Yes, as part of their deal co-creators Parker and Stone will be making 14 "made-for-TV films" over the course of seven years for Paramount+.

In their interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stone said: "We're trying to make what's on Paramount+ different from anywhere else, so hourlong made-for-TV movies is where our head is at.

"We'll do two made-for-TV movies every year. They will be big, but they are not quite movie scale."

New seasons of South Park will also be made for Comedy Central, and Parker and Stone's deal ensures the show will continue until at least its 30th season in 2027.
