Antonio Conte will look to dip into the January transfer window to strengthen his already steely defense at Chelsea, reports say.

Conte is believed to be looking at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim's defender Niklas Sule as he aims to bring in reinforcements during the 31-day window, according to ESPN.

Christian Eriksen's goal for Tottenham on Sunday, in Chelsea's 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, is the only goal Conte's side has conceded in the past seven Premier League games.

Conte's 3-4-3 formation has given Chelsea a dangerous threat in attack while also assuring grit and numbers in defense.

But the Italian boss wants to bring in cover for his center-backs, having looked at Burnley's Michael Keane as well.

Sule, 21, broke into Hoffenheim's first-team in 2013, aged just 17, and made his debut for the German national team this year.

Chelsea do, however, face competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the race for Sule's signature.
