Antonio Conte has told Chelsea to postpone negotiations for a contract extension as he looks to complete the job of winning the Premier League title, according to reports.

The Italian is in his first year managing in English football, and has managed to take Chelsea from 10th in the table to 10 points clear at the Premier League summit.

With the end of the season in sight, the west London club looks sure to win its second championship in three years, and the club is looking to reward Conte with a new contract.

But, according to The Times, the former Juventus coach has asked the club to delay talks until the end of the season.

Reports have suggested Conte is keen to see whether the club can keep hold of the likes of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois this summer before committing his future.

Real Madrid is believed to be interested in signing both Hazard and Courtois, with the former likely to be worth a world-record sum, while Costa is reportedly set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea begins the final stretch of the season at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
