Brazilian midfielder Oscar looks set to have a starring role in Antonio Conte's Chelsea side in the new campaign after impressing during pre-season.

The 24-year-old is confident about Chelsea's chances for the new Premier League season, having scored three goals in the last two games for the Blues.

Conte has tinkered with his formation but Oscar believes the team is more effective in a 4-3-3 rather than 4-2-4, playing with two strikers.

"4-3-3 is better for me because I can score more goals, and also create more and tackle in midfield which I like to do to help the team," Oscar told Chelsea's official website.

The slight midfielder was the standout player for Jose Mourinho when he arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2013, and seems to have impressed the Portuguese's permanent replacement.

Conte has said striker Diego Costa will not be for sale, news that will please Oscar after linking up well with the Spaniard in pre-season.

"We like to play together," he said. "Every time when we have the ball we come close together to try and link up and create something. This is good for the team and for us."
