Claudio Ranieri is aiming to make a return to management in the Premier League after turning down four job offers since being sacked by Leicester City in February, according to reports.

The 65-year-old was sacked just nine months after guiding the Foxes from 15th in the Premier League table to the most unlikely champion last summer.

According to The Times, that achievement has seen job offers come in from Palermo, Wolfsburg, plus clubs in Dubai and China. Ranieri has rejected all of them, as he favors a return to the top tier of English football.

Speaking on Tuesday night in his home city of Rome, Italy, Ranieri admitted he was shocked to have been sacked by the owners at Leicester City.

“Thinking of Leicester, the first thing that comes to mind is the sense of surprise more than bitterness,” Ranieri said, as quoted by The Times. “I had been through a lot in my long career, but never anything like this. It was a shock. Even in the end, these things are part of football.”

He added: “The biggest thing is I’m just a coach who has had the joy of winning a championship with a fantastic adventure and then to experience the sorrow of what happened next.”
