Crystal Palace is looking to sign outcast Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho on transfer deadline day, according to Sky Sports.

Sakho, who fell out with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in pre-season, has been out-of-favor at Anfield this season, not featuring at all for the club.

Sky Sports claims Liverpool wants to sell the French center-back rather than loan him out, which was what Southampton attempted to do earlier in the month.

Sam Allardyce's Palace is 18th in the Premier League table, in the relegation zone, and only two points from Swansea City.

Allardyce has already added Patrick van Aanholt to his defense during the January transfer window, but is believed to be keen on the powerful center-back Sakho.

He has until 11pm Tuesday night (GMT) to complete the deal.
