Jose Mourinho is anxiously waiting to hear the extent of damage Eric Bailly suffered during Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

Bailly, 22, was forced off in the 54th minute at Selhurst Park due to a knee injury, having only come back from a similar injury earlier in the month.

The Ivorian center-back had been out for six weeks, and was making his first start for Manchester United since returning from injury.

"It is not the same knee, it is the other one, so it is not [the] previous injury," Mourinho explained.

"He has a problem, we don't know the dimension. He showed character to try and try until he reached the limit.

"He had an injury in the right knee and he recovered fantastically well. Now it is the left knee. I don't know really what he has, but let us see and wait."

United remains 13 points off Chelsea at the top of the Premier League, sitting sixth in the table.

Mourinho's side travels to the Hawthorns on Saturday to take on Tony Pulis' West Brom.
