Manchester United is monitoring the fitness of Ivorian defender Eric Bailly after he limped off a reserves match on Monday night.

Bailly, who has been absent throughout January on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, was back in the red jersey of Manchester United to play against Everton.

The center-back was reportedly removed in the second-half, however, after picking up a knock, and was sat on the bench with his foot taped up, according to the Daily Mail.

Bailly was signed by Manchester United in the summer, becoming Jose Mourinho's first buy after becoming manager at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old has been a regular in Mourinho's starting line-up, proving himself a powerful and athletic defender since arriving from Villarreal.

United will be keen to have him fit and available for the visit of Hull City to Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Mourinho's team is currently sixth in the Premier League and four points behind Liverpool in fourth, which is the first possible Champions League position.
