Jurgen Klopp warned his transfer targets that he would move on if there was no progress in the players signing for Liverpool. Today, he's making one last attempt.

The Anfield boss, according to the whispers and rumors filtering around the Premier League, will lodge a third bid for his top target, with a fee that would break the club's transfer record.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Chelsea are back vying for a rival's player, likely to cost £50 million (about $65 million), with Tottenham also heavily interested, and possibly the winner.

All that and plenty, plenty more in today's Newsweek transfer round-up:

That man Klopp so desperately wants at Anfield next season is RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, who Liverpool is willing to pay £70 million for, according to the Daily Mirror. The club has already seen a £66 million offer for the 22-year-old rejected by the Bundesliga club.

Across Merseyside, Everton has seen many players join Goodison Park this summer, but Ronald Koeman's team is now preparing for an exit. England midfielder Ross Barkley looks set to leave the club, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham showing an interest in the 23-year-old, according to the Daily Mail.

But the London Evening Standard say Barkley wants a move to White Hart Lane after hearing positive reports about Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea announced it had agreed terms to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata on Wednesday, subject to a medical, in a deal believed to be worth around £75 million. And now the west London club will look to get rid of fellow Spanish striker Diego Costa, who the The Independent say is heading for Atletico Madrid with Chelsea wanting £44 million to sign him.

Manchester United is also considering lodging a bid for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, who was reportedly a target for Barcelona earlier this summer, according to The Sun. The 24-year-old Italian has just teamed up with super agent Mino Raiola, who also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, among other clients.

Jose Mourinho's pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic is still not over, and The Independent says the Italian club has demanded Manchester United use Anthony Martial as part of the deal.
