The USA women’s basketball team is off to a dominant start at the FIBA World Cup Qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico, winning their first two games.

They defeated Senegal 110‑46 on Wednesday and followed that with a 91‑48 victory over Puerto Rico on Thursday.

The team features several of the top WNBA players and is headlined by Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and Angel Reese — arguably the three most popular players in the league.

However, the so-called Clark‑Reese drama, which is minimal between them as teammates, continues to attract attention from fans. Some Clark supporters expressed frustration with how Reese has been playing alongside the Indiana Fever star in the first two wins.

Fans claim that Reese is refusing to pass to Clark, sometimes ignoring her in the backcourt and even bringing up the ball as the point guard herself. There is some evidence for this perception, as several clips appear to show Reese looking past Clark during plays.

“If you watched the game last night… you know this to be true. Reese will not pass the ball to Clark. She either tries to play the point guard herself or passes to someone else,” one fan said.

Another added, “It’s petty because Clark is the face of the league. She brings the fans, is positive, doesn’t complain, and works hard.”

“Why isn’t the coach coaching? Pull Reese out of the game and rip her [expletive],” another fan wrote.

“I only watched for a few minutes and thought it was my imagination, but it was obvious. Pure BS!” one viewer shared.

One more commented, “The coach needs to nip that in the bud! She’s the coach! Tell Reese to stop!”

More than likely, this is an overblown assumption based on just two World Cup games, especially considering Team USA has blown out its opponents and is playing with several players who haven’t shared the court together for an extended period.

Still, it highlights that the so-called feud between Reese and Clark lingers in fans’ minds as the two approach their third WNBA season.
