Fudd Comes From a Basketball Family

Both of Fudd's parents, Tim Fudd and Katie Smrcka‑Duffy Fudd, played college basketball.

Tim played at American University from 1991 to 1996 and then professionally in Europe. Meanwhile, Katie was the 1997 ACC Rookie of the Year at NC State and then was a fourth-round draft pick in the 2001 WNBA Draft.

Fudd credits her parents for helping her develop into the player she is today.

Tim admitted he was nervous to watch Fudd compete in the 3-point contest.

"Yes, I got nervous. First time ever. I usually trust the work. It's amazing, it's all surreal. But this is her element, so happy to see it. I told her before she left the hotel to just lock in," Fudd said.
