The first round of the NBA Playoffs wraps up on Sunday night with the second Game 7 in the Western Conference in as many nights.

One second-round matchup in the West is already set: the Thunder (1) will take on the Nuggets (4). But the Timberwolves (6) will not know whether they are facing the Warriors (7) or the Rockets (2) until after Game 7 tonight in Houston.

The Rockets have the younger legs, and they looked like the better team in Games 5 and 6 after falling behind 3-1 in the series, but taking down Stephen Curry and the Warriors will require a massive effort from a starting five featuring three 22-year-olds (Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green and Amen Thompson).

Can Curry deliver another huge Game 7 performance?

In five career Game 7s, Curry has scored over 30 points three times, including a 50-point night in a 120-100 win over the Kings in the first-round back in 2023.

Curry has been up-and-down in this series, with 29 points or more in Games 1, 3 and 6, but just 20, 17 and 13 in Games 2, 4 and 5.

Curry's assists numbers have fluctuated substantially throughout the series. He recorded just three in Games 1 and 4, and he only had two in Game 6 on Friday night. He had at least seven assists in each of Games 2, 3 and 5, though.

And it's worth noting that while he finished Game 6 with just two assists, he was credited by NBA.com with 10 potential assists.

In a must-win Game 7, the Warriors' supporting cast should be able to do better than 9-for-33 from 3. As a team, Golden State shot just 15-for-49 from downtown in Game 6, and that included a 6-for-16 3-point shooting night by Curry.

Curry is more than savvy enough to exploit all the double-teams he's likely to see tonight, and it's hard to see the Rockets relying on one player to check Curry.

Whether this prop cashes or not will likely come down to whether Butler, Draymond Green and the rest of the Warriors can knock down their open looks, and underestimating those veterans here doesn't seem like a great idea.

Warriors vs. Rockets Game 7 Pick, Best Bets

The Rockets enter this game with a ton of momentum after winning Game 6 in San Francisco.

Tonight, though, as cliche as it is, I don't see Curry and Butler losing to a squad as light on playoff experience as the Rockets (outside of Fred VanVleet, who won the NBA Finals with Toronto in 2019 and has made 18 of his 27 3-point attempts over the last three games).

As long as the Warriors can keep this game close until the final minutes, I expect another big night by two of the best playoff performers in the league (Butler and Curry) to make the difference, though I don't blame anyone for sticking with the red-hot home favorites.
