The Los Angeles Lakers fell 111-89 to the Boston Celtics on Sunday night in one of their more sluggish performances of the season.

Despite the loss, history was made in the second half as Lakers superstar LeBron James officially surpassed the 43,000-point mark — a feat no other player in NBA history has accomplished.

James finished with 20 points, five assists, and four rebounds while shooting 9-for-21 from the field. On Monday morning, he acknowledged the milestone with an Instagram post celebrating the achievement.

James’ post drew reactions from several athletes and NBA fans, but the most notable came from Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. A longtime fan and supporter of James, Clark kept her response short and simple.

“King,” Clark wrote.

Like James, Clark has been under the spotlight for much of her career, dating back to her college days at Iowa. She has lived up to the immense expectations placed on her as the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.

The WNBA season is still a few months away and will mark her third year in the league, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see her back on the court. Clark is set to participate in the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, which begin in early March and will mark her debut with the U.S. women’s national team.
