If the season ended today, the Valkyries would be the No. 7 seed in the WNBA playoffs, a mere half-game ahead of the No. 8 seed. They're playing better basketball as of late, winning five of their last seven and two in a row, including a 74-57 home win over the Connecticut Sun on Monday. Tiffany Hayes scored 17 points with four assists, with Cecilia Zandalasini (17) and Janelle Salaun (16) contributing to the victory.

A recent four-game losing streak pushed the Mystics outside of a playoff spot, as they currently sit 1.5 games behind the No. 8 seed. They won their last game in impressive fashion, as they rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit on the road to beat the Dallas Wings 91-78. Washington shot 80% in the second half, scoring 61 points, led by Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, who each scored 17.

Golden State won the first two meetings of the season, and they will play one more after tonight, on August 30 at Golden State.
