Los Angeles got its first win of the season on Wednesday night, opening a three-game road trip with a 6-5 shootout victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Anton Forsberg stopped Vegas' last chance in the shootout to secure the win after goals by Trevor Moore — shorthanded — and Brandt Clarke in a 2:21 span tied the game in the third period. Andrei Kuzmenko, Quinton Byfield, and Jeff Malott had the other tallies for the Kings.

Kyle Connor's hat trick on Thursday night wasn't enough to save the Jets from a 5-4 loss to the visiting Dallas Stars in their opener. Winnipeg scored two shorthanded goals in the game and came back from a 5-1 deficit 3:23 in the third period to close to within a single goal on Connor's third marker of the game with 3:03 to go. Morgan Barron scored a shorthanded tally at 9:53 of the third before Connor lit the lamp on the penalty kill 1:16 later.

This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
