Dallas finds itself on the back half of a home back-to-back, looking to right the ship after a 106-80 loss to the Las Vegas Aces. The Wings played without Paige Bueckers and struggled mightily, shooting just 38% from the field and a ghastly 21.1% from the 3-point line. Arike Ogunbowale led the team with 18 points, with reserve Haley Jones scoring 15 off the bench.
New York is fresh off their five-game winning streak being snapped, losing a 101-99 nail-biter to the Los Angeles Sparks. Sabrina Ionescu delivered a strong performance in a losing effort, scoring 30 points, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out six assists, and swiping four steals. Natasha Cloud added 22 points and nine assists for the Liberty, who remain No. 1 in the league in points per game (87.9).
This is the first of three matchups between the Liberty and Wings, with two more scheduled for the first half of August.
