The New York Yankees have struggled recently.

After jumping out to a 42-25 record following a series sweep over the Kansas City Royals, the Yankees have lost nine of their last 12 games, including six in a row.

Following an extra innings loss to the Cincinnati Reds that saw Aaron Boone's bullpen collapse, the Yankees' captain, Aaron Judge, spoke to the media about the team's performance.

"We got to play better. That's it," Judge told reporters in the postgame clubhouse, in a video posted to X by the YES Network. "We're not playing that great, but we got to learn from it. We got to move on. We got to turn the page. We got to get to the next one."

But Judge reaffirmed his belief in the team and their abilities.

"No, we got a lot of winners in this clubhouse," he added. "You guys know to move on from tough stretches. And you know, we've done that before."

But Judge didn't want to place the blame anywhere except on the shoulders of the players. As Judge goes, the Yankees go.

When he's hot and rolling, they're a very tough team to beat. But when the slugger is cold, the entire offense cools down. Despite a few home runs, Judge has cooled down quite a bit compared to his scorching hot start to the year.

The Yankees don't have a favorable schedule leading into the All-Star break either.

After finishing up in Cincinnati, the Yankees will host the Athletics before traveling to the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets. Home series against the Seattle Mariners and Chicago Cubs will end the first half of the season for the Bronx Bombers.

That marks four postseason contenders in five series for the Yankees.
