The Atlanta Braves struggled a bit with pitching depth last year. Their ace, Spencer Strider, went down with a UCL injury early in the season, and Atlanta struggled to replace him during the campaign. The Braves had four excellent starting pitchers, but the fifth slot was a revolving door for the majority of the season.

Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara is one of the only veteran players left in Miami's entire organization. He's coming off Tommy John surgery but has flashed the same velocity, command, and pitch arsenal that led him to a Cy Young Award in 2022.

Atlanta could form a trade package centered around one of its top pitching prospects. Either AJ Smith-Shawver or Hurston Waldrep could headline the potential deal, with other prospects making the package worthwhile for Miami.
Adding Alcantara would give Atlanta a rotation that could potentially have Strider, Alcantara, and Chris Sale as the top three arms. This is exactly the kind of rotation that could compete with the Dodgers in the National League.
