Christian Yelich knew that if the Milwaukee Brewers didn't do anything different during the playoffs, they would be World Series champions.
Newsweek attended a World Series celebration event at a Raising Cane's in Milwaukee on Tuesday with Yelich. While speaking to reporters, Yelich revealed the Brewers' biggest key to winning all but two of their playoff games to win their first World Series championship.
"I think we just knew that we didn't have to do anything different than what we've done all year," Yelich told Newsweek and the group of reporters. "And if we just did the same things and played the same way that we'd played for six months, we'd be fine. And we hadn't really gone on one of those extended win streaks yet that season, it was kind of just steady winning.

"I think someone said we didn't win really more than five games in a row at any point during the regular season. So with this team, you always kind of knew that we had the potential to go on a little bit of a heater and just start racking up the wins. That might actually be in October this year because we haven't done it yet. You start building the momentum with some of those close wins, and you get the walk-off win, and everybody starts feeling good."

The Brewers finished the regular season with the most wins in MLB, with 103. In the postseason, Milwaukee beat the San Diego Padres in the NLDS (3-1), swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS (4-0), and took down the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series (4-1).
Yelich, who has been with the Brewers since 2018 and won the NL MVP that same season, kept the World Series celebration going by working a shift at Raising Cane's. Following the parade on Friday and his appearance on "Saturday Night Live," Yelich served chicken finger meals to customers and spoke to the 400 fans who wanted to show their love for him and the Brewers.
“First we had the parade, then SNL, and now I’m here at Cane’s – it’s awesome!” Yelich said.
