Emma Stone took a trip to Citi Field on Friday night for the series opener between the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Stone was there to film a movie scene with five-time All-Star outfielder Juan Soto for a new baseball-themed romantic comedy called "The Catch". One of Soto's scenes included him exiting the dugout.
In addition to Soto's cameo, the movie is starring Stone and Chris Pine. Stone's husband, Dave McCary, is directing the film produced by Universal Pictures.

The movie is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2027.
As part of filming the movie, the Mets wore their traditional white uniforms instead of their home black uniforms for Friday's game.
New York ultimately lost 4-2 against Los Angeles, with Soto serving as designated hitter and walking twice during the game.
Soto Made It Back to the All-Star Game
For the first time since signing a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets in December 2024, Soto earned an All-Star selection this season.
Soto missed out on the 2025 All-Star Game after spending the majority of April recovering from a calf strain.
This season, Soto became the youngest player in MLB history to earn an All-Star selection with four different teams. The 27-year-old has been an All-Star for the Mets, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.
“I think he’s set out to be one of the best players in the history of the game, and the best players in the game are at the All-Star Game every year,” Mets interim manager Andy Green said. “So it’s the place he deserves to be. It’s the place he belongs. … I certainly believe he relishes the opportunity to be around other great players.”

Soto currently leads the National League in on-base percentage (.408) and OPS (.947). But the Mets have the second-worst record in the NL (43-61) and rank last in the NL East this season.
