The Mets, along with the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers, are the favorites in the Tucker sweepstakes. The outfielder's free agency has unfurled as a saga between the three clubs, and fans are quite frankly desperate to know Tucker's final decision.
It appears Cohen is in the same boat.

The Mets have made a competitive offer, ranging from 2-4 years with an astounding $50 million annual average value. While the AAV alone seems like quite the contract, Tucker has yet to make a decision.
The Blue Jays are reportedly the only of the three teams to make a long-term offer for Tucker. MLB insider Jeff Passan reiterated the Mets' hefty offer for Tucker, and explained the mystery behind Tucker's impending decision.
"Now that the Mets are in at that level, the (Los Angeles) Dodgers are going to come in, too," Passan said Wednesday.
"You don't know what he's going to take. Does he want that big-dollar contract, or does he want the security that comes with a long-term deal?"
Tucker appears to be weighing his options as both the Dodgers and Blue Jays reached the World Series last season with LA winning it all in a thrilling Game 7. The Mets missed the postseason entirely in 2025, so there's a case to be made that the organization needs Tucker the most.
How Did Kyle Tucker Perform in 2025?
The star outfielder is coming off a strong season with the Chicago Cubs, where he slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs despite dealing with a fracture between his ring and pinky fingers. In each of the last five seasons, he's posted at least 4.2 fWAR and has won a Gold Glove in the outfield.
There is a belief around the industry Tucker will sign soon, but it's unclear as to where that will be.
