The Philadelphia Phillies had the eighth-best team ERA in all of baseball last season. Their pitching staff posted a 3.79 ERA on the season, with starters posting a 3.53 ERA.

Even if Imanaga returns, the Cubs could use an arm like Suárez's. Since becoming a full-time starter in 2022, he has a 3.59 ERA.

The Cubs had the ninth-best team ERA last season. Adding Suárez could make them even better as a unit, but he will not be cheap. Spotrac projects him to sign a six-year, $161 million deal in free agency.
