The Philadelphia Phillies have added to their outfield depth with a minor trade.

The Phillies have announced that they have acquired outfielder Kameron Misner from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations. The 28-year-old outfielder has also been assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following the move.

The Phillies also shared that they have designated outfielder Steward Berroa for assignment to make room for Misner on their 40-man roster.

Misner was designated for assignment by the Royals earlier this week. Now, with this trade, he is heading to the Phillies organization and will be looking to make an impact in Triple-A. If he does, it could open the door for him to receive a call-up to the Phillies' roster in the near future.

New Phillies outfielder Kameron Misner

...

Misner appeared in 18 games this season with the Royals before being traded, where he had zero home runs, three stolen bases, four RBI, and a .220 batting average. This was after he had five home runs, 22 RBI, and a .213 batting average in 71 games with the Tampa Bay Rays during the 2025 season. He also appeared in his first eight career major league games with Tampa Bay in 2024, where he went 1-for-15 at the plate.

Overall, there is no real harm in the Phillies bringing in Misner. He will now provide them with a depth outfielder who has some major league experience, which is never a bad thing. It will be interesting to see if he can earn himself a call-up to their major league roster before the season is over from here.
