The Philadelphia Phillies will be a very interesting team to watch during this offseason.

After disappointing in a major way during the playoffs, it is clear that the Phillies should be on the hunt for new talent this winter. One of their top needs is to upgrade their outfield, which is why they are being urged to trade for an interesting outfielder from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Kerry Miller urged the Phillies to make a move for Dodgers outfielder Alex Call this offseason.

Alex Call

"But with an estimated 2027 cash payroll that is already the highest in the majors, signing a Randy Arozarena or Ian Happ to improve that situation hardly seems like an option. Bringing Alex Call back to the NL East could work, though. He struggled in 2026, but had an .800 OPS between the 2024 and 2025 campaigns," Miller wrote about the Phillies.

Call would be an intriguing player for the Phillies to take a chance on. He is coming off a down year, posting one home run, 20 RBI, and a .233 batting average. However, he had five home runs, 31 RBI, and a .267 batting average just back during the 2025 campaign. Thus, he could be a good bounce-back candidate for the Phillies to take a gamble on.

At a minimum, Call could serve well as a fourth outfielder for the Phillies. Yet, if he bounced back and became an impactful contact hitter again, he could become a key part of Philadelphia's roster if acquired. It will be interesting to see if they target him this offseason because of it from here.
