The Philadelphia Phillies are one of two teams in the National League East that are working through a major retool of their roster this winter.

It's going to be a tough task for Dave Dombrowski as the organization tries to make it further in the playoffs than the National League Division Series. Multiple players hit free agency for Philadelphia, one of them being starting pitcher Ranger Suarez.

With Jesus Luzardo seemingly taking the role of the lefty specialist in the rotation, it leaves Suarez on the outside looking in. Now, Ryan Finkelstein of Just Baseball is predicting Suarez to sign a five-year deal worth $110 million with the Atlanta Braves.

"The Braves could use a steady presence in the middle of their rotation, and also could use a second lefty to pair with Chris Sale," Finkelstein wrote for Just Baseball on Tuesday. "Likely priced out of the market for Framber Valdez, the Braves can shoot for Suarez, looking to poach from a division rival. Suarez fits in any rotation, giving him plenty of landing spots to choose from. You can make a case that Suarez should be the No. 1 priority for both the Braves and the Tigers this offseason; it is just a matter of which team aggressively bids to make it happen."

Suarez would make a lot of sense in Atlanta's rotation as he would form a dynamic 1-2 punch with Sale. Having two elite left-handed pitchers would greatly bolster the Braves' pitching staff as they try to turn it around from a poor 2025 season.

If the veteran lefty were to sign a deal of this nature, it would pay him an average of $22 million per year to pitch in Atlanta. Suarez recorded a 3.20 ERA in 26 starts last season for the Phillies and would pick up where he left off with another NL East team.

Atlanta makes a lot of sense for Suarez and should do whatever it takes to sign him and rip him away from a division rival.
