We now have a complete picture of the Red Sox's initial 26-man roster.
Boston revealed its full group hours before Thursday's season opener against the Texas Rangers. Unfortunately, the announcement included news that reliever Liam Hendriks was placed on the 15-day injured list due to previously undisclosed right-elbow inflammation.
Hendriks spent last season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, so there's reason to be concerned about Thursday's developments. His spot on the roster was filled by righty Cooper Criswell, who previously was expected to be the odd man out.

Boston's roster likely will evolve over the next few weeks, as the Red Sox have just one day off in the first 21 days of the season. Rehabbing pitchers Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito also could be ready to return after two weeks.
The position group likely will go unchanged for a while barring injuries. However, all eyes will be on top prospects Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer, both of whom are knocking on the door for big league promotions.
