The New York Yankees have reportedly made an offer to free agent outfielder Cody Bellinger worth more than $30 million per year, according to a new report from The Athletic.

The new information comes from team insider Brendan Kuty, who states that Bellinger wants a seven-year deal, with length the main roadblock for both parties.

The information on the latest offer comes after a report from MLB insider Jon Heyman highlighted the Yankees' interest in infielder Bo Bichette, another big-money position player free agent.

The Yankees have been the natural landing spot for Bellinger, who had a good season with the Bronx Bombers, benefiting from hitting at Yankee Stadium.

Due to his strong string of seasons, there are other interested parties, namely the New York Mets, and his two former teams, the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers.

As time goes on, Bellinger might need to give up on his long-term money, and the Yankees have shown the most concrete interest in signing him.

"Yankees officials have said many times that they want to re-sign Bellinger, whom they hope will continue to provide steady left-field defense and be a strong lineup presence behind Judge," Kuty's story read.

"Considering how long the sides have been talking, it appears Bellinger is open to returning to the Bronx. Bellinger’s camp could be pointing toward what’s happened this offseason in free agency."

Last season, the lefty was 82nd percentile in batting run value, 69th percentile in baserunning value, and 91st percentile in fielding run value.

His hitting advanced analytics were not great, but he has shown patience at the plate and can still get ahold of a pitch and drive it well.

Uncharacteristically, the Yankees have not swung an impact deal over the winter, and keeping Bellinger would certainly qualify as such, though there are improvements needed, especially in terms of thepitching staff.
