Chloe Kim and Myles Garrett are a match made in athlete heaven.
Kim has been a snowboarding star since she was a preteen, and she has since won two Olympic gold medals. She also won a silver medal in the women's halfpipe at February's 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, with Garrett by her side.
Garrett, meanwhile, is currently the best pass rusher in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns defensive end broke the NFL's all-time single-season sack record by recording his 23rd sack against Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow on Jan. 4. Predictably, he won Defensive Player of the Year.

It all seems obvious now, but Kim recently shared that she wasn't as convinced at first.

Last week, Kim joined the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast to discuss various topics, including her relationship with Garrett. Toward the end of the 63-minute conversation, Kim walked through how she and Garrett first met.
Kim confirmed that she and Garrett began dating "a little over a year ago," and said they met through a mutual friend, Vinh Pham, a physical therapist. She said Pham accompanied her to the X Games last year.
"I was venting to him, like, 'I can't date anymore!'" Kim said. "Like, 'I'm done. I'm just gonna be single forever.' I was being so dramatic. I was like, 'I'm gonna get a sperm donor. I don't need a man! I just want kids, and I'm gonna live happy and free.'"
Pham asked Kim what she wanted in a guy, and Kim said, "I want somebody that's tall, handsome, kind, close with their family, and I want somebody that's equally as successful as me, if not more." Kim admitted she had dated men in the past who were intimidated by her success, so she said, "I just wanted someone to not be intimidated by me and my success because I don't carry myself in that way, either."
Pham suggested Garrett to Kim, and Kim didn't know who Garrett was because "I don't watch football." She was "reluctant" and "scared of dating an athlete" because she had never. Pham FaceTimed Garrett and briefly introduced him to Kim.
"Vinnie gave him my number," Kim said. "It wasn't a big enough conversation to where I thought he was gonna reach out to me after. I was like, 'Oh, whatever. One-and-done. I'm never gonna hear from this man again.' After practice, he texted me. He was like, 'Hey, how did it go? It's Myles.' I was like, 'Do I have really low standards or was that sweet?' He's texted me every day since then."
Kim continued, "After that, we were texting so much, having so much fun texting, and then he'd be like, 'Okay, going to bed, goodnight.' Next morning: 'Good morning!' He was texting me every day."

Garrett and Kim later had their first official date when Kim spent a weekend in Dallas, where Garrett lives during the NFL offseason. Kim declined to let Garrett pay for her flight and hotel because she wanted to keep the stakes low "in case we don't get along."
Spoiler: They got along really well.
"He was so shy," Kim said. "I always make fun of him, like, 'You were so shy!' But we had so much fun. That whole weekend was so fun."
Kim said she knew after that how much she actually liked Garrett, and now, she foresees them being together forever because "it's so easy with him," and she feels like she found her "best friend."
In late February, Sports Illustrated filmed Garrett reading a poem he wrote for Kim that made her cry: "You enrapture fools to kings and exist without a peer / Put on this earth for many things, but our love is why you're here."
While Olympic duties forced Kim to miss witnessing Garrett break the sack record and receive Defensive Player of the Year at NFL Honors, it seems like a lock that she'll be a fixture on the Browns' sideline in 2026.
