Charles Barkley is an all-time great basketball player, but he may be even more well-known today as an on-air television personality, serving as a longtime NBA analyst and regularly appearing during the NCAA Tournament.
As a result, going out in public often draws attention — something he didn’t seem to welcome this week when he was spotted getting into a car. With the window rolled up, a fan approached, hoping to get an autograph.
Barkley eventually rolled the window down and made it clear he would sign one autograph. However, when the fan continued to push for more, Barkley quickly shut it down, responding with a heated remark:

Fans reacted to how Charles Barkley handled the situation with mixed opinions. Some understood his stance, while others felt he could have been a bit more accommodating to the fan seeking an autograph.
“Grew up a huge fan of Charles Barkley, so I get the frustration — but this game gave him millions, fame, and security for his family. Signing an autograph for fans is the least you can do,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “I don’t blame Chuck at all. Nowadays, most of these guys are professional autograph seekers camping out everywhere to get signatures they can sell.”
“Barkley wasn’t wrong, he told him ONE! lol,” another fan wrote.
“Charles isn’t stupid. He knows that guy wanted him to sign multiple items so he could sell them on eBay,” one more commented.

Oftentimes, those asking for autographs — something Charles Barkley has likely experienced throughout his playing and media career — are seeking multiple signatures with the intention of reselling them for profit, which could help explain his frustrated response during the viral interaction, especially since he doesn’t have much of a history of denying autographs or being rude to fans in reasonable settings.
