Brown's latest remarks came after Tatum insisted there was no personal feud between them.

Speaking after Boston's 107-103 win over the New York Knicks on Friday, Tatum said he had no animosity toward Brown and wanted more attention on what they accomplished together.

Brown offered a pointed response when asked about Tatum's comments, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

“He’s got a great PR team. There’s no beef … but there might be some lamb chops and gravy.”

The joke kept the situation light on the surface, but it also ensured the conversation would continue.

The tension began Thursday when Tatum released a new episode of his YouTube documentary series, Summer of Jayson. He recalled learning that Boston had traded Brown to Philadelphia during the offseason. Tatum said he was caught off guard by the news.

Brown appeared to question that account by commenting with a blue baseball-cap emoji under a clip of Tatum's remarks on Instagram. The emoji is commonly used to suggest someone is lying.

The former teammates spent nine seasons together in Boston and won the 2024 NBA championship. Brown was named Finals MVP during that title run.

Their first regular-season meeting as opponents is scheduled for November 10, when Philadelphia hosts Boston. Until then, the social media exchanges are likely to keep fans watching closely, even as Tatum insists there is no feud.
