Jonathan Kuminga recently signed a two-year, $12.4 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, joining a talented young roster featuring Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.
Kuminga entered the league as the No. 7 overall pick for the Golden State Warriors in 2021, spending his first four seasons with the franchise. Midway through his fifth season last year, the Warriors traded him to the Atlanta Hawks before the deadline.
Kuminga is looking forward to his next chapter with the Timberwolves, particularly when it comes to teaming up with Ball.

During his introductory press conference on Thursday, Kuminga said he's never played with a passer as gifted as the former Charlotte Hornets point guard.
“His ability of passing the ball," Kuminga said. "I’ve played with so many point guards in my career but I’ve never played with somebody that can pass as good as LaMelo.”
The Timberwolves acquired Ball in a blockbuster trade earlier this offseason. Through his six seasons with the Hornets, Ball averaged 7.3 assists per game.
