LeBron James is 41 and in his 24th NBA season.
Every other player from his draft class has retired.
He is still going, now in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey after eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers.

When he signed a two-year deal this summer, the big question was simple. What would LeBron look like on a team that didn’t need him to do everything? His longtime agent now has an answer.
NBA Courtside shared a clip on X of Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul speaking on a podcast. In it, Paul explained why James is enjoying the game more in Philly than he did in LA.
“When you’re in years 22, 23, 24, and you still have something left in the tank, it’s a beautiful situation where you can position yourself alongside other guys that can play roles at a high level that give you a real chance of winning,” Paul said.
“And you don’t have to be someone that you’re no longer capable of being today,” he added.
That is what Philly has given him. James is averaging 16.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists in six games. The scoring is well below his career mark, and nobody in Philly minds.
Tyrese Maxey leads the way with 29.1 points a night, and Jaylen Brown has called it Maxey’s team. James is fine with that. He grabs the rebound, starts the break and, as Brown put it, plays quarterback.
And it’s working. The Sixers are 7-1, top of the East and on a four-game win streak. They have even sat James for one game of back-to-backs and still found ways to win.
That 7-1 record also means something for James. His teams have started 7-1 four times before, and all four reached the NBA Finals. Philly hasn’t been there since Allen Iverson in 2001.
Next up is a trip to Detroit, the only team to beat them this season.
