LeBron James made his long-awaited NBA free agency decision on Friday, announcing his commitment to join the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2026-27 season.

James chose the 76ers over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and more. The 41-year-old superstar now joins a talented roster featuring Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe for his historic 24th NBA season.

Immediately after James announced his decision on social media, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported the details of The King's latest NBA contract.

In his eighth and final season with the Los Angeles Lakers last year, James averaged 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game — continuing his elite production.

"This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning," James wrote on social media.
