The Los Angeles Lakers added to their new-look roster ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season on Monday, signing 29-year-old guard Matisse Thybulle.
The Lakers signed Thybulle on a one-year, $3.3 million deal, according to a report from ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
Thybulle began his NBA career as the No. 20 overall pick in the 2019 draft, with the Philadelphia 76ers moving up in the draft order to select him. In Philadelphia, the former Washington Huskies standout notched back-to-back All-Defense Second Team honors from 2020-22.

Thybulle landed in Portland as part of a four-team trade midway through the 2022-23 NBA season. He appeared in just 30 games this past season due to injury issues, averaging 5.8 points and two steals per contest. Prior to that, he missed the majority of the 2024-25 season due to a right knee injury.
Thybulle is the Lakers' third free-agent guard signing of the offseason, joining Collin Sexton and Quentin Grimes. The organization has also locked down star guard Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves on long-term deals.
