Stephen Curry had never opened a season 0-3 with the Golden State Warriors, and DeMarcus Cousins knows who he’s blaming.

Appearing on “Run It Back,” the former NBA player aimed his frustration at general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., arguing Golden State’s executives haven’t given Curry enough help and openly questioning how Dunleavy remains employed.

Cousins framed it as a lack of belief in Curry from the people running the franchise.

“I don’t feel like the front office is believing in Steph the way everybody in the world believes in Steph,” Cousins said. “And I think the evidence is pretty apparent. I’ll go on the record and say I think Dunleavy has done a [expletive] job as far as putting a roster around Steph Curry. Why this guy still has a job? I’ll never know.”

Calling the situation unfortunate, Cousins said Curry still has “so much more greatness to give” at this stage of his career.

Head coach Steve Kerr’s small lineups drew fire as well.

“They’re still running the same outdated system as far as going extremely small,” he said. “I think the other night Steve Kerr put in a lineup, and the tallest guy on the floor was [six-foot-six-inches]. It doesn’t work anymore.”

The roster backs up at least part of Cousins’ gripe. Center Kristaps Porzingis was supposed to start all season, but health problems have him weighing retirement.

Gui Santos and Graham Ike started up front in the most recent game, and neither is a true center. Opponents have won the rebounding battle in two of the three defeats.

Missing from that game were Curry, Brandin Podziemski and Draymond Green. Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody were already ticketed for extended absences before the season began.

Curry agreed to an extension over the summer that was friendly to the team’s books. Golden State passed on available scorers such as Collin Sexton and Anfernee Simons.

A loss to the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 26 would drop Golden State to 0-4, with Butler and Moody still waiting to return.
