Brian Kelly seems ready to be a head coach again, and Florida State might be his top choice.
On Tuesday, Kelly was asked about the position, which is open after Florida State fired Mike Norvell this past weekend. Kelly said he would love to be the new head coach of the Seminoles if he were asked.

“So anytime you have an incredibly brand-driven, great tradition and history, there’s a want and desire to be part of somebody that has had that success and, certainly, leading that program, from anyone’s perspective, would be an honor and privilege.”
Brian Kelly Led Notre Dame to Two College Football Playoff Appearances
Kelly recently served as LSU's head coach. During his time with the Tigers (2022-25), Kelly went 34-14 and won three bowl games. However, LSU was 19-10 in SEC games with Kelly and never reached the College Football Playoff.
Before joining LSU, Kelly coached Notre Dame from 2010-21. He went 92-39 and led the Fighting Irish to the College Football Playoff in 2018 and 2020.
Notre Dame hired Kelly because of what he did at Cincinnati. He was the Bearcats' head coach from 2006-09 and went 34-6. In 2009, Cincinnati went 12-0 and finished No. 8 in the AP Poll.
