Being an NFL or college football head coach comes with plenty of responsibility and expectations, and it doesn't take long for fan bases to grow restless with the lack of results.
There's been talk that one college football coach in particular might get booted soon despite being at his university for a little over a year.
Michigan State faced No. 3 Indiana on Saturday, and the game ended in another blowout loss for the Spartans as the Hoosiers came through with a 38-13 victory. The Spartans fell to 0-4 against fellow Big Ten teams, and it added insult to injury following MSU's embarrassing 38-13 homecoming loss to UCLA.

During Saturday's postgame press conference, MSU head coach Jonathan Smith and the players had some discussion about how the team has made some progress, but going 0-4 in conference doesn't feel like progress to many Spartans fans. With just five games left in the regular season, there's speculation that Smith might be out the door before then.

Robert Bondy of the Spartans Wire discussed the reality of Smith getting fired.
He stated that if the higher ups have already decided to move on from Smith, then they should do so now and not wait until after Michigan State's upcoming game against the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.
Bondy also added that letting Smith coach against Michigan this weekend, if it's already been decided to part ways with him, "would be a lose-lose situation."
"If there's still some hope and thought he's the guy long term, then you should let him coach this week for his job," Bondy said.
Other college football analysts are talking about the possibility of Smith and MSU parting ways, too.
Connor Muldowney of Spartan Avenue asked if Saturday's loss against the Hoosiers will mark his final game coaching for the Spartans, though he's a bit more positive than Bondy.
"Honestly, it feels like he earned himself an extra week, at least, with the 38-13 loss because the offense actually looked competent and Aidan Chiles played one of his best games of the season against an elite defense in Indiana," Muldowney said.
Either way, the pressure is on Smith. This weekend's game against the Wolverines could be a make-or-break moment for him.
