Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning found himself under some public scrutiny following his comment about ESPN reporter Holly Rowe during a press conference on Monday.
Manning laughed while talking about an AI generated video of his head coach Steve Sarkisian slapping Rowe in the face after the Longhorns' miraculous comeback victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday night.
“I’ve seen a few AI edits and stuff,” Manning said. “I saw an AI edit of Sark’s interview. Have y’all seen that one? That’s a good one… of him slapping Holly Rowe. Yeah. That’s hilarious.”

On Tuesday, Manning issued a public apology for his "insensitive comment."
"In my press conference yesterday, I made an insensitive comment about an AI video. There is nothing funny about it," Manning wrote on Instagram. "It's easy to say I didn't mean it, but I know my words and actions were hurtful to a lot of people. I do not take that lightly and am deeply sorry for that.
"I specifically want to apologize to Holly Rowe for what she has personally had to deal with because of my comments. I have a ton of respect for her and appreciate her showing me grace in this moment. I need to be better and will be more thoughtful moving forward."

Rowe responded to Manning's apology with a statement of her own.
"Thank you Arch. I appreciate our conversation about this — which will remain private. Apology accepted. We move forward with respect and kindness for one another," Rowe said.
Manning and the No. 1 ranked Longhorns will take the field for a matchup against UTSA on Saturday.
