During ESPN’s College GameDay, Kirk Herbstreit not only gave his thoughts on Saturday’s Georgia Bulldogs game against the Florida Gators, but he also loaned his opinion on who will be a Championship contender.
“I’m saying Georgia even though they’re coming off of a loss,” Herbstreit said. “I think that loss, like Coach has said in the past of some of his Alabama teams, sometimes we needed a loss to kind of get us right. They lose in a close game, three turnovers, uncharacteristic from Gunner Stockton, two weeks to get ready for Florida. I just think if we had to pick one team right now, I think this team could be the best team in the country right now.”

The Bulldogs are coming off a 27-24 loss to Auburn where the three turnovers from Stockton went down.
“Georgia has had two weeks to figure things out,” Herbstreit said on the show. “Three turnovers – uncharacteristic by Gunner Stockton. I think he will play much better today.”
In order to get that done, Georgia football coach Kirby Smart said that the ball needs to be given more to Jadan Baugh, Sports Illustrated reported.

“They’ve got a great rushing attack, and they’ve got a great back to do it with,” Kirby said, according to SI. “So when you can run the ball and know that your back’s going to make people miss in the open field or break tackles by running through them, over them around them, it certainly gives you the confidence to give him touches and he’s been incredible.”
