Lane Kiffin said he would do work in the transfer portal, and regardless of what you think of the LSU Tigers head coach, he told no lies.
A few days after locking down the team's superstar QB for the 2026 season in former College Football Playoff quarterfinalist Sam Leavitt, Kiffin pulled another rabbit out of his hat by grabbing the signal call of the future as well for the Tigers.

More news: LSU’s Lane Kiffin Makes Last-Minute Trip for Top-Rated Transfer Portal QB
Husan Longstreet, the five-star phenom out of California, is coming to Baton Rouge and is set to play behind Leavitt for the upcoming season before taking over the program in 2027.
Longstreet was the heir apparent to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans in Los Angeles, but the QB made a stunning move last week when he left the school he played for in 2025 to enter the transfer portal.
In his first season of college ball, Longstreet impressed in the short stints he was given on the playing field.
He showed off his lethal arm and equally dangerous legs, looking like a Caleb Williams-level talent that Riley would get to work with as his starter once the current star QB, Jayden Maiava, left for the NFL.
Those dreams have now been transferred to Kiffin and LSU, who saw Jaxson Dart go in the first round with the New York Giants and could see Trinidad Chambliss have a similar fate if he ends up declaring for the draft. Sam Leavitt also has a future first-round projection if he can have a successful, healthy final season in college with the Tigers.
Husan's older brother, Kevin, a cornerback for USC, also entered the transfer portal a few days before he made his choice.
The transfer portal officially closes on Jan. 16, 2026.
