The ongoing back-and-forth public battle between LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and his former employer Ole Miss doesn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon.

One user on X teased both fanbases, pointing out the incessant bickering over the last few weeks, to which Kiffin replied: “Agree. Everyone move on ☮️.”

But less than 24 hours later, Kiffin hit Ole Miss with another gut-punch despite seemingly calling a public truce.

“Ole Miss star edge rusher transfer Princewill Umanmielen is set to transfer to LSU, sources tell @CBSSports. Umanmielen, who posted nine sacks this season and was an All-SEC selection, ranks as the fifth-best overall player to enter the portal this cycle,” Matt Zentiz of CBS Sports wrote on X.

The news comes less than a week after Ole Miss attempted to block Umanmielen’s transfer portal request by not filing his paperwork by the time the portal closed. The school alleged that Umanmielen had recently signed a new NIL deal with the program, which is reportedly did not want to let him out of.

A similar situation recently happened with Washington Huskies quarterback Demond Williams, who signed a $4 million revenue-share NIL deal with the school before announcing days later that he intended to enter the portal. He’s since remained with Washington.

Umanmielen is a five-star transfer and the No. 5 overall player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports. He logged 51 pressures, 45 tackles, 35 hurries, nine sacks, five QB hits, and an interception, according to Pro Football Focus.

The junior pass-rusher is the latest in LSU’s stacked transfer portal class, which includes five-star quarterbacks Sam Leavitt and Husan Longstreet, five-star edge-rusher Jordan Ross, four-star linebacker T.J. Dottery, four-star wide receivers Eugene Wilson III, Jayce Brown, Winston Watkins Jr., and Malik Elzy, four-star edge-rusher Jaylen Brown, and four-star offensive lineman William Stterwhite.
