Kamario Taylor is out for the remainder of the season, but that doesn't mean his time at Mississippi State is over.
ESPN Pete Thamel joined SportsCenter with the latest on Taylor, who injured his toe against Missouri on Sept. 26. Thamel said that after Taylor undergoes toe surgery, he is expected to speak with Mississippi State about returning next year.
"He grew up about 20 miles outside Starkville, and there's optimism for both sides that Kamario Taylor will be a Mississippi State Bulldog next year," Thamel said.

"I spoke with Zac Selmon, the athletic director at Mississippi State, today, and he made it very clear that Mississippi State is going to be aggressive in both keeping Kamario Taylor and, maybe more important, getting the roster set financially to compete with the highest echelon of the SEC."

Kamario Taylor Led Mississippi State to 4-0 Start
After Taylor injured his toe against Missouri, he played in the Alabama game on Oct. 3 and the Oklahoma game on Saturday (Taylor missed the LSU game on Oct. 17). He left both games early.
At the start of the season, Taylor was one of the top quarterbacks in college football. He led the Bulldogs to a 4-0 start before the team lost to Alabama.
Taylor finished the 2026 season with 1,460 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns while completing over 65% of his passes.
"My role will look different these next several weeks, but my commitment to this team won't change," Taylor said in a statement this week. "I'll do whatever I can to help my brothers down the stretch, and I need the Bulldog Family to do the same. Have these guys' backs the same way you've always had mine."
