The college football world has changed drastically in the past few years.
You have billionaires at Texas Tech building the Red Raiders into an athletic powerhouse. The USC Trojans are building facilities in Los Angeles that would make the Rams and Chargers blush. Indiana, the losingest program in the sport's history, just won the national championship after a perfect season.
There are no surprises left that can come out of nowhere in college football.

Jimmy "Mr. Beast" Donaldson is the most-watched YouTube personality on the planet, who expanded his reach into supermarkets, television, and amusement parks.

This week. Mr. Beast reacted to a video discussing the possibility of him taking over his local East Carolina Pirates and investing $100 million into the program to turn them into the fiercest team in all of college football.
Although a pure fantasy when crafted, the man who spent millions of dollars on weirder things asked his fans whether it was something he should do.
"Should I do this?" he posted on his official TikTok account.
A part of the American Conference, the Pirates already have a good foundation to build upon if the influencer wanted to back them financially. After a few seasons down in the standings, new head coach Blake Harrell has turned around the program.
Harrell, who took over the job midway through the 2024 season, is 14-5 thus far as East Carolina head coach. He has also led the team to back-to-back Military Bowl victories.
The Pirates' roster featured a trio of four-stars alongside a slew of two- and three-star players during the 2025 campaign.
If Mr. Beast takes over and invests as much as he's done in other aspects of his business career, there might be more stars in East Carolina than a meteor shower by the time he's done.
