Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney has long been a player that NFL scouts have shown a strong amount of intrigue about. But following his latest performance on Saturday, Toney earned himself a particularly bold NFL comparison to a seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver that was truly dominant at his peak.

Toney served as the go-to option for Miami quarterback Darian Mensah, hauling in a season-high 16 receptions for 194 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Miami would keep their undefeated record intact, cruising to a 52-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Being the undisputed top offensive receiving threat on the No. 1 team in the country as Toney currently is will naturally get you plenty of deserved national recognition. Toney received an especially strong comparison to one of the best NFL wide receivers in recent memory after his special day on Saturday.

During Saturday's Miami-Pittsburgh game, NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared an insight he heard from an NFL scout of 20 years, who compared Toney to former Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown.

"How good is Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney?" wrote Schultz in a post on X. "I asked a 20-year scout for his NFL comp. His answer: Antonio Brown."

Brown famously had a real argument of being the best wide receiver of the 2010s as a whole. So this is clearly a very lofty comparison for Toney.

Only time will tell whether Toney can ultimately live up to this comparison. But for the moment, Toney clearly finds himself right alongside Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith as the best receiving threats in college football.

Toney and the Miami Hurricanes will look to keep their winning ways going in Week 9 when they head north to Chapel Hill to face off against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
